Composite wood fencing is now a popular choice for many applications due to its environmental benefits, moisture resistance, termite resistance, and water impermeability, which also give it an attractive and elegant appearance. However, proper installation is essential to ensure the long-term performance and durability of composite wood fencing.

Composite wood fencing is now a popular choice for many applications due to its environmental benefits, moisture resistance, pest resistance, and water impermeability, which also give it a sleek and elegant appearance. However, careful attention must be paid during the installation process to ensure the fence’s long service life.

  1. Preparatory Work for Installing Wood-Plastic Composite Railings: Prior to the commencement of overall construction on a new project, it is necessary to determine, in accordance with project specifications, the railing’s length, height-to-width ratio, spacing, shape, and material.

  2. Tools required for installation: In general, the installation of composite wood railings involves composite wood floor posts, post caps, post bases, composite wood stair handrails, wooden square timbers, embedded parts, expansion bolts, as well as U-shaped or L-shaped connectors and screws.

  3. Prior to installation, anchorages shall be securely fastened to the concrete structure using expansion anchors and screws to ensure they remain immobile. Subsequently, the posts of the composite wood-plastic flooring system shall be fixed in place on these anchorages. It is essential that the base of each post and its cap are installed directly onto the posts of the composite wood-plastic flooring system. Additionally, U-shaped or L-shaped connectors shall be attached to the posts using screws to create a secure connection, which will then be anchored to the posts of the composite wood-plastic flooring system.

  4. After the plastic wood flooring posts have been installed, secure the guardrail and wooden battens to the tops of the posts using screws.

  Installation of WPC Railings

  1. In general, during the installation of wood-plastic profiles, the support beams should be spaced 30 to 50 centimeters apart (depending on the size of the profile).

  2. Self-tapping screws are durable and long-lasting, making them the preferred choice for installing plastic-wood profiles.

  3. When installing with dedicated screws, pre-drilling is mandatory. The diameter of the pilot hole shall be no more than three-quarters of the shank or screw diameter.

  4. When the profile width exceeds 10 millimeters, each end shall be secured with two screws.

In special service environments or under exceptional load conditions—such as hot-water bathing facilities—shorter spacing may be required during installation.
